ABOUT ME

Suzette Vontell Chang

Suzette is a Cultural Introspective Archivist. She applies cultural, personal, and community-driven processes, transforming archives into living entities and creating space for historical items to tell their cultural backgrounds and self-expression. By blending her background in library and archival studies with cultural anthropology, she empowers documents and archives to speak, influencing and impacting humans as we function and interact with each other. She gives specific attention to “historical labels,” exploring their meanings in the past, how those meanings impact the present, and how they shape our understanding of the future. Suzette holds a Master’s in Cultural Anthropology and a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

The Relationship Between Introspection, Wisdom and Artifacts.

An Information Advocate bridging the gap between historical labels and future leadership.

Suzette stays current with industry-specific trends, data analytics, and new technologies to ensure she is leading with strategy. Through the lens of reciprocal listening, honoring her word (word is bond), seeking deep understanding (which means she asks LOTS of questions), and being a good steward of resources, Suzette reflectively curates, preserves, and actively engages with historic documents and content.

She gives specific attention to “historical labels,” analyzing their meaning during the past and how those meanings impact the present and shape our understandings of the future. Her mission is to help organizations navigate these complexities with intelligence and grace.
